Fish Pie
Fish Pie
I always believe that when you are watching the pennies, you can
still eat healthy. Tin and frozen foods are handy when trying to budget. Frozen
food today is frozen within 2-3 hours of being caught or picked, keeping all of
the nutrients in.
Serves 4-6 People (depends
on how hungry you are)
Ingredients:
450g/1lb Bag of frozen fish pie
mix (Asda/Walmart or Tesco)
145g tin of tuna
1 small onion chopped
450mls ¾ pint of milk
900g/2lb potatoes cooked and
mashed
100g/ 3 ½ oz butter
2 Carrots
3 boiled eggs sliced
100g Frozen sweetcorn
100g Frozen peas
2 Tbsp dried parsley
1 tsp smoked paprika
3 Tbsp plain flour
150g mature cheddar cheese
Salt & Pepper to your taste

Method:
Put the frozen fish in your wok
or large frying pan.
Add 300mls ½ pint of milk
Add the onion
Add the Parsley
Add the Paprika
Add salt & pepper to your
taste
Bring to the boil then turn down
heat and simmer for 10 minuets
Remove fish from the pan and
place in a deep oven dish
Reserve the liquid in a jug
Spread the tuna over the fish in
the oven dish
Scatter the sliced eggs over the
fish then scatter the peas and sweetcorn
Melt the butter in a sauce pan
stir in the flour then whisk in the cooking liquid you reserved and remaining
milk cook keep stirring for 2 minutes or until thick
Spread the mash potato over the
top add the grated cheese on top of the potato
Pop it in a preheated oven
200 c/400 f/gas mark 6 for 30 minutes
Serve with homemade bread or salad or both
