Slow Cookers and Saving Money

Saving Money

I enjoy watching cooking programs, Gordon Ramsey, Jamie Oliver James Martin, and the Hairy Bikers, just to name a few, they are really good at what they do and there food always looks amazing, but then you switch off the TV go into your kitchen and reality hits, there is nafall in your fridge or cupboards or very little in comparison to the delicious food you have just seen on TV. No shiny pans or food gadgets, but still we have to eat and make the best out of what we have.

Reality is that most of us want to save money, and with the growing need for food banks, and the price of food increasing, this is what has inspired me to start food blogging. Not to teach people how to suck eggs lol but to show how it is possible to eat healthy delicious food and save money. I know firsthand what it’s like having to watch your pennies.

I hope my recipes and stories will inspire you all to get back in the kitchen and eat well. Even if you’re cooking for 1 or 2 or a whole family.

I share my house with one other person so only two of us too cook for. Slow cookers are great not only for stews in the winter, but also curry’s, bolognese and cake yes I have made a cake in a slow cooker it can be done.

 Some of the recipes I have I will be sharing with you in my blogs as the week’s progress.

 I am not claiming to be a chef or best cook in the world, just someone who likes to cook at home without wasting money on takeaways. Good food is always better when cooked at home even on a budget, and doesn’t have to take a long time to do, and can still be healthy and delicious.
